Exhibition Layout: Whitefish
About the project
The Whitefish HO Scale Exhibition Layout is based on the city of Whitefish in Flathead County, Montana, USA.
The layout measures 5.4m X 4.5m with a swing out bridge module so those of us less agile don’t have to duck under to get inside.
The line was originally used by Great Northern but has since changed hands to BNSF, and is now the main route for AMTRAK from Chicago to Seattle.
The layout is DCC only and all control is via our hand held throttles including changing route points. In other words, there are no control panel switches. Further, it will include full signalling. We plan to also include an overhead LED route panel to show the route being used.
The team building it include Martin Jones, John Wilson, Geoff Barnes and Chris Kremler.
It has been a four year project to date.
