Waverley Model Railway Exhibition 2025 Kings Birthday Weekend, June 7 - 9

The 2024 exhibition is now finished.  On display were our club’s US HO scale layout Whitefish, our British OO scale layout Genesis, fresh from an upgrade and our N Scale British layout Brocklebank. All layouts performed well and were a credit to the club.

We had a number of guest layouts from different parts of the State.  Among the layouts on display were Sunbury Model Railway Club’s Gisborne, Grampians Model Railway Club’s Port Franklin and Latrobe Valley Model Railway Association’s Gippsland Line. Max Sharrock brought his US N scale layout Clinchfield from Warrnambool, and Colin Konig displayed Slate Valley Tourist Railway. Trevor Holloway again displayed Hollowglen, as did Ray Richards with VR N scale layout Billabong Flat and Matt Winzenreid displayed 1890 Fishmarket. We also had members of the Box Hill Miniature Steam Locomotive Society with a 5″ gauge live steam model on display. See our Facebook page for photos of theses excellent layouts.

Renowned British OO scale modeller Jesse Sim travelled from Sydney to demonstrate some of the techniques he uses in constructing his models, as well as our own Club modellers providing demonstrations on scenery and electronics.

SDS Models, IDR Models and On Track Models attended with their latest releases, along with The Model Emporium and Train World. Also in attendance were Paul’s 3D Prints, Maher’s Models, Blue and Gold Models, Along the Tracks Models, RW Hobby, the Victorian Railway History Library and Jonah’s Creations.

Our Children’s U – Drive where the younger generation were able to try their hand at running a train was hugely popular all weekend.

We thank all our members, guest exhibitors and retailers, and of course all who came to see our exhibition. Without you this exhibition would have not been the huge success it has been.

We look forward to seeing you all next year, Brandon Park Community Centre, King’s Birthday Weekend 2025, 7-9 June.
